What are the “Flame®” items made from?
Ceramic, specially developed to resist against any source of direct heat>
What heat sources can be used?
Gas, electric, halogen.
Can they be used on induction?
No, as they are made from ceramic and do not contain any metal. You can, however, use the Emile Henry induction disk, witch heats like an electric hob.
Can they be used in the oven?
Without any problem. They can also be used under the grill in the case of onion soup for example.
Can they be used in the microwave?
Yes, as they do not contain any metal. A recipe can thus be started on the gas hob and finished off in the microwave.
Can they be put in the freezer?
Yes, up to -20° C /0° F.
Can they be put in the dishwasher?
Yes. Their “high temperature” glaze (1150°) is guaranteed for the dishwasher. What’s more, they do not contain any metal, and thus will not rust.
